Okay, Marvel and DC both have sucked major donkey dick in the last two decades, spending most of their creative talent writing to fourty year old fanboys and clinging to characters and stories just as old instead of really innovating, thus allowing manga and web comics to feast on their rotting corpses.... (Black lanterns = undead super heroes anyone?)
But Marvel at least managed to remain independent while DC was swallowed up by the behemoth that is Time Warner. They ran interesting cartoon and movie interpretations of their properties and were the last to leave the failing CW Kids network before it was sold out to 4cha- erm 4kids.
Meanwhile, DC execs pissed a bitch to the execs of Cartoon Network about their running Marvel shows instead of the corpses of JLA and The Batman over and over after both series had been off the air and not even shown in their entirety, thus causing Marvel to bail on CN and move most new properties over to Nick.
I wouldn't look to see those properties continue on Nick, a MAJOR competitor to the Disney Channel, once the current agreements expire, BTW. Be prepared to see W&tXM, Ironman Armored Adventures, and the reborn Fantastic Four either fold up in two years, or move over to Disney XD.
Not that the House of Mouse is any stranger to either running Marvel Properties (the current season of Spectacular Spiderman, and several properties that had previously run on the Jetix program block such as Uncanny Xmen and Spiderman/Unlimited) or Comics (see the myriad tie-ins to their toon properties) But it seems like Disney is only interested on continuing the Status Quo, trading on the strength of old names and old properties like Iron Man and Xmen than in actually turning a floundering Juggernaut (see what I did there?) around and really innovating.
Anyways, yeah, We are not amused!
